| That’s a Wrap!!! |
What a summer I've had-- warm weather and picnics and lazy naps on the beach…well, not quite! It started with hours upon hours spent brainstorming TV ideas. Then came the details: gathering crew; planning logistics; packing and unpacking; rigging, writing, shopping, prepping and hair-fluffing. When everything was finally in place, it was “LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION!". That's right, after filming around the globe for 2 months, my summer was spent in my San Francisco studio kitchen filming the "in-studio" segments for 26 new episodes of PLATES & PLACES. Finally, "It's a wrap!"
Imagine a crew of 20+ walking into your home (yes, we actually film in my house!) at the break of dawn, toting cameras, ingredients, pans and everything needed to make it all happen. We had a team of the most talented professionals who put so much of themselves into this production.
These new episodes are going to transport you to some incredible food destinations. Get ready to learn how to make the lightest pumpkin soufflé in the Washington wine country, make my favorite tapas in La Rioja, Spain, discover the famous Sachrè Torte in Vienna and harvest capers on a Greek Island!
My Producer, Paul Swensen, thinks this might be our best work yet and we can't wait to share all of the recipes with you, so here are a few to get your mouth watering:
Stay tuned and keep cooking with me!

P.S. Tune in to watch Season One and Two on KQED here in the San Francisco Bay and on your local public television stations and CreateTV nationwide!
