The launch for my new TV series is just around the corner!!!  After 18 years doing television, this is my absolute favorite series yet.  The series is called “Joanne Weir’s Plates & Places” and I sure did visit to a lot of places!  So far, I’ve filmed and cooked my way through California, France, Italy, Greece, the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland and Morocco!!!  And the dishes I’m making with my chef friends and students are out of this world!

Each episode is packed with inspiration from around the globe for delicious recipes that you can easily make at home.  In Morocco, you’ll see how delectable Moroccan stews called tangias are assembled in beautiful clay pots and nestled in embers of a long burning fire and then I’ll show you my own version in my San Francisco fireplace! Then on the island of Kea in Greece, we’ll help Costas wrap fish in fig leaves and cook them over an open fire and return home to create a  version that you can easily make in your own oven!  And we’ll head to a centuries old rice farm in the Veneto region of Northeastern Italy and make what I think is hands-down the best risotto ever.  Maybe it’s the whole bottle of fruity delicious Amarone wine that I pour into it?!

Watching this show will be like taking a virtual culinary journey with me.  I hope that you have as much fun watching as we had filming!!

Stay tuned as season one of “Joanne Weir’s Plates & Places” launches on KQED here in the San Francisco Bay area next month and begins airing on your local public television stations and CreateTV soon!
