On my last trip to Spain with a group of fellow food loving friends, I had this idea that I wanted to make paella with them. That’s all I had to say to get my Spanish friends geared up to make paella over an open fire along the River Oja. I watched as they enthusiastically cooked paella the same way that their families had for generations. And when we sat down to taste, it was perfection. This led to the inspiration for a weekend class together cooking up one of my favorite dishes and I can’t wait to share their tips with you!

This weekend workshop includes hands-on cooking classes in my kitchen studio in San Francisco, where you’ll learn to make some of my favorite Spanish recipes like the most over-the-top “pasta” dish called Fideus with Garlic Prawns and Creamy Allioli, and Pinxtos, the skewers threaded with all kinds of goodies like the ones you’ll find in bars in Northern Spain. Then we’ll head outside to create Paella with Chicken and Chorizo on a traditional paella burner, just like they do in Spain! Being a potato lover, we have to make a personal favorite, Patatas Bravas with Spicy Tomato Sauce and for dessert, my new go to Orange and Almond Cake with Caramel Ice Cream. And that’s just the beginning!

With plenty of make-ahead recipes, this class will give you confidence to pull off the quintessential party menu. Plus, for those of you outside of the Bay Area, September is an incredible time to visit us here in the Bay Area!

Lots of surprises are in store, so if you’re ready to cook up amazing small plates, make paella like a pro, mix up a seasonal rosé sangria and savor the flavors of this beautiful part of the world, join me in San Francisco as we take a virtual journey together to Spain!

See you in San Francisco!
