Season one and two of Joanne Weir Gets Fresh are airing on *Create® TV public television stations nationwide and, I have to tell you- this show has been so much fun to film! The crew and I have been on the road, meeting growers, fishermen and artisan butchers all over California and beyond. They are so passionate about what they produce and provided inspiration for the dishes we make on the show.
In each episode, I venture out to get the best ingredients from California’s walnut orchards, huge tomato farms, fig growers or farmers' markets and show you first-hand the amount of care that goes into each ingredient. From expertly crafted cheeses to delicious varieties of citrus I’d never even heard of, we filmed it all! I even fished for salmon in the beautiful waters of Alaska. ALASKA!! Now that was amazing.
