The Perfect Marriage
Asking me whether I choose the menu around the wine or the wine around the menu is a bit like the chicken or the egg question. Or is it the cart and the horse? Oh, you get the idea! As a chef, you probably think that I base everything around the food first and then see what wine works best? However, remember I am also a wine lover (and maker!), so I'm just as likely to whip up a dish that will beautifully enhance the wine I've selected. And I'll be honest with you... I make lamb and beef often, because I love red wines like Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir so much! But I always say that in the end if you choose a wine you love and cook foods that you love, you're bound to have a marriage made in wine heaven!
