Just recently, in front of a huge audience at the Commonwealth Club in San Francisco, I was interviewed by my chef friend, Gary Danko. There were lots and lots of questions about what has inspired my cooking, about my classes in Morocco, France, Italy and Spain, and how I got interested in making wine. The last question of the evening was the most intriguing... 'What one thing I would recommend to change the world?' I thought for a few minutes but then it came to me. I said "I would encourage everyone around the world to sit down and eat dinner with their families and friends every day". I really believe this could work!
Now I would add to that idea, why not sit down to a delicious, healthy home-cooked meal together? If you are ready to join in the campaign, gather your family and friends and try some new and easy recipes. These are some favorites from my new TV series and companion cookbook, "Cooking Confidence: Dinner Made Simple" (Taunton Press, 2012). Each one can be prepared in a snap:
Enjoy making the world a little better!
